Equity and Diversity

The Washington Society is dedicated to promoting diversity and equity both within the Society and on grounds at UVA. Our commitment to inclusion across race, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, identity, and experience is what truly makes The Wash what it is today: a community of unique individuals who come together every Thursday evening regardless of their differences in order to appreciate great literature, comedy, and debate.

The Washington Society has a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment, assault, hate speech, and other malicious actions of any kind. We understand that reporting behavior that threatens the safety of our members can be incredibly difficult. One of the mechanisms in place to protect the rights of our members is the Equity Box.

The Equity Box is a form for reporting offensive behavior. Only the President has access to submissions.
