The Society facilitates an annual philanthropic project to advance its goals and values. Every year, The Wash's Board of Trustees comes together to agree upon a form of philanthropy that benefits the UVA community and beyond.
The Wash participates in forms of philanthropy that promote the art of oratory while benefiting the broader UVA and Charlottesville community.

Fall 2023
During the Fall 2023 semester, The Wash raised a total of $865.38 for Offender Aid and Restoration-Jefferson Area Community Corrections through social media.
The Wash also wrote letters through Abolition Apostles and Power Blossoms to incarcerated individuals across the country.
Spring 2024
In accordance with our mission of promoting literary excellency in the greater community, The Wash held a donation drive for the Appalachian Prison Book Project. The APBP asserts that education is a human right, and works to help incarcerated people through educative justice with the end goal of restorative justice. Through this project, the Wash collected 212 books - 175 for APBP, 37 for local Little Free Libraries - and $48 in monetary donations.

During the Fall 2024 semester, The Wash fundraised for Cancer for College, an organization which provides financial aid and scholarships to college students diagnosed with cancer. The Wash simultaneously supported a member as they battled cancer through boosting their GoFundMe.
